Backyard Fences
There are so many choices and options you need to consider when deciding on a new fence for your
backyard. Hopefully you will find some inspiration within these pages to help you find the right fence for you.
If you need a backyard fence to keep animals out or perhaps pets in, you may want to read out pages
about electric fence chargers. With the advent of solar power this is
now a cheap and green option for creating a boundary around your property, particularly if you have a large
area.
For a more traditional garden you might want to look at something a bit more decorative for your
fencing. Something that adds to the look and feel of your landscaping. If you have lots of trees for instance then
a traditional natural wooden fence is going to be the best option. If your garden has a pool and patio area then
perhaps you will want to look at the wooden privacy fence styles
available.
Once you have decided on the style you then need to choose what material your fence will be made
from. Timber options vary from widely and fencing is now made in White and Red Cedar, Redwood, Spruce, Pine and
Fir. That's before you look at the different qualities of treated timbers now on the market.
For a cheap and quick option check out our article about installing chain link fence. Or how about a traditional American picket
fence that comes without all the traditional problems of rot and yearly mainenance? Yes you can now get a
vinyl picket fence that once built can be left for a lifetime.
Many are worried about tackling the job themselves but with backyard fence kits now readily
available, anyone can put up a fence. These kits are complete assemblies that include everything you need to put up
an attractive and solid garden fence. Some are so cleverly designed all you need to do is snap together the pieces
and you're done. They come in sections to make a square or rectangle. Some have modified braces that allow you to
make an octagon or semi circle.
Most of these kits are a little less simple than the above, but still require only minimal work.
For the competent DIY fan though, a kit isn't really required. With a spare pair of hands a good sized privacy
fence is a weekends work if panels are used.
Browse our pages and jot down some ideas. You will soon have an idea of what you require for your
backyard fence.
